Jisoo started her singing career in the Korean industry at the age of 16. In 2011, she was interviewed for a job at YG Entertainment. Here she was selected as a trainee and trained for five years. Afterward, she joined a famous girl group, “Black Pink”, which proved a turning point in her life. She is the very first member of the group.
In 2015, she performed a small theatrical role in the KBS2 drama, “The Producers”, with the leader of band Winner, Kang Seung-Yoon, and Sandara Park from group 2NE1. She has also appeared in many commercials including Smart Uniform, LG Electronics, Samsonite, and Nikon.
On August 8, 2016, she made her single debut, “Square One”, with three other members of Black Pink, Jennie, Lisa, and Rose. She also joined “Inkigayo” as an MC in 2017-18 with Jinyoung from GOT 7, and Doyoung from NCT.
At the end of 2019, she shortly appeared as a cameo in the tvN fantasy drama, “Arthdral Chronicles”, and she made her first fixed appearance in the JTBC drama, “Snowdrop”, with Jung Hae-in in 2021.
